How often did you feel the burning desire to understand the words that Allah revealed to humanity? Have you ever thought that the deeper meaning of Allah’s words have been lost in translation? Have you ever wondered how amazing it would be to have the key to volumes of classical Islamic Literature? I’m sure you have reflected on these questions frequently. Many of us may feel the desire to study the Arabic language only to be discouraged by the expensive transportation and residence costs for travelling abroad. Now you don’t have to worry about such an expensive investment. Alhumdulillah, ILF Chicago is pleased to announce its Arabic Studies program. It is the hope of the ILF team to provide quality education of the Arabic language that is reminiscent of studies abroad, but convenient for those who don’t have the time or the money to travel away from the United States.
The course will cover a famous text entitled “Al-Arabiyatu Bayna Yadayk” which is used by many centers for Arabic learning abroad. InshaAllah the program will consist of five courses which will be completed over a 2 year period. Upon completion of this program students will be able to speak, read, and write the Arabic language and will be able to appreciate the meaning of the Quran and classical Arabic texts. The program is designed to present the Arabic language through a unique and effective method of Arabic immersion, where the student will be able to start speaking the Arabic language after the very first lesson!
All group courses will be limited to 15 people in order to provide an appropriate environment that facilitates interaction and conversation. This restricted number will allow instructors to address the individual needs of each student while not sacrificing the progress of the other students in the class.
Along with the group courses, The ILF Arabic Program also provides a unique opportunity for private 1-on-1 courses. This method of learning is of the most effective means of learning the Arabic language. The student will be engaged in consistent and close interaction with the instructor and will be able to learn the language at a pace that matches his ability to learn. Each private course can have up to 3 students, so feel free to sign up with 2 of your friends or siblings. Along with the listed timings available for private classes in the evening, Special requests for timing from 8 am until 2pm Monday thru Thursday are also provided. All students must have at least 4 hours of instructional time each week in order to experience appropriate progress with the syllabus. Due to modesty regulations, the private courses will only be offered to male students. However, femal students may take register for private courses if they are taking it along with a male mahram (i.e. father, brother, or husband etc).
